I installed Kino, so it is perfect tool to capture video from dv-camera via firewire. But it does not see /dev/raw1394 and therefore a camera also, notifying that raw1394 kernel module not loaded or failure to read/write /dev/raw1394 I go in /dev and can't find there raw1394 file, i create it from blank file with proper name and execute Code: sudo chmod a+rw /dev/raw1394 in terminal and than check Code: ls -l /dev/raw1394 and have following answer Code: andrey@andrey-navi:~$ ls -l /dev/raw1394 how it is explained here-rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 260 2013-04-18 21:47 /dev/raw1394 But any may have this error. What can be wrong? |

I made Code: lspci -knn to ensure that the hardware are properly recognised and received:Code: 03:01.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394) [0c00]: Texas Instruments TSB43AB23 IEEE-1394a-2000 Controller (PHY/Link) [104c:8024] Kernel modules: firewire-ohci so, it's ok exclude one string which should be there but misses for now, previously, on 10.10 i've already executed this command and had: Code: 03:01.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394) [0c00]: Texas Instruments TSB43AB23 IEEE-1394a-2000 Controller (PHY/Link) [104c:8024] Kernel driver in use: firewire_ohci Kernel modules: firewire-ohci, ohci1394 so, there are no drivers in system and i can't find it in Internet as well as in synaptic. |

Magic, but i've got it.
